The Annual Father & Son Campout will be June 14th and 15th. All men are welcome (you don’t have to have a son or father to attend!). The campout takes place on Gilman Island, which is reached by boat. The evening will include setting up camp, dinner, swimming, canoeing—all capped by a campfire time with a relevant message. It’s a great time to connect with other men, and have a ton of fun with your kids.
We typically meet at Kilowatt Park South in Wilder at 5 PM and launch canoes for Gilman Island at 5:30 PM. Exact time and launch location for this year will be confirmed closer to the event. It is about a 15 minute trip, depending on how the river is moving. You are welcome to bring your own canoe.
Food will be provided. If you have food allergies, please feel free to bring what you need.
In the morning there will be an early breakfast, and then it will be time to break camp. Return from Gilman will be between 7:30 and 8 AM (This is the “official” ending of the event. You’re welcome to stay longer if you wish)
