Time of Reflection
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the Sun has risen, not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”
~C. S. Lewis, “Is Theology Poetry?”
“He was before His own flesh; He created His own mother. He chose her in whom He should be conceived, He created her of whom He should be created. Why do you marvel? It is God of whom I am speaking to you: The Word was God.”
~St. Augustine, Sermon 69 on the New Testament
“The human mind, stuffed as it is with presumptuous rashness, dares to imagine a God suited to its own capacity; as it labors under dullness, no, is sunk in the grossest ignorance, it substitutes vanity and an empty phantom in the place of God.”
~John Calvin, The Institutes of the Christian Religion
“Christ was sent not to mend wounded people or wake sleepy people or advise confused people or inspire bored people or spur on lazy people or educate ignorant people, but to raise dead people.”
~Dane C. Ortlund, Gentle and Lowly: The Heart of Christ for Sinners and Sufferers

Call to Worship
Nehemiah 9:5-6 (NIV)
LEADER: Stand up and bless the Lord your God who is from everlasting to everlasting!
CONGREGATION: Blessed be Your glorious name, and may it be exalted above all blessing and praise.
LEADER: You alone are the LORD. You made the heavens, even the highest heavens, and all their starry host, the earth and all that is on it, the seas and all that is in them.
CONGREGATION: You give life to everything, and the multitudes of heaven worship You.
Songs and Liturgy
(sing as a group and/or sing along to recorded versions)
10,000 REASONS (BLESS THE LORD)
(Jonas Myrin, Matt Redman)
CHORUS:
Bless the Lord, O my soul, O my soul,
Worship His holy name.
Sing like never before, O my soul.
I’ll worship Your holy name.
The sun comes up, it’s a new day dawning:
It’s time to sing Your song again.
Whatever may pass,
And whatever lies before me,
Let me be singing when the evening comes.
(CHORUS)
You’re rich in love, and You’re slow to anger.
Your name is great, and Your heart is kind.
For all Your goodness, I will keep on singing;
Ten thousand reasons for my heart to find.
(CHORUS)
And on that day when my strength is failing,
The end draws near, and my time has come;
Still my soul will sing Your praise unending:
Ten thousand years and then forevermore!
(CHORUS)
I’ll worship Your holy name.
Yes, I’ll worship Your holy name.

RESPONSIVE READING: Psalm 37:1-8 (NASB)
LEADER: Do not fret because of evildoers,
Be not envious toward wrongdoers.
CONGREGATION: For they will wither quickly like the grass,
And fade like the green herb.
Trust in the LORD, and do good;
Dwell in the land and cultivate faithfulness.
LEADER: Delight yourself in the LORD
And He will give you the desires of your heart.
CONGREGATION: Commit your way to the LORD
Trust also in Him, and He will do it.
LEADER: And He will bring forth your righteousness as the light,
And your judgment as the noonday.
CONGREGATION: Rest in the LORD and wait patiently for Him;
Do not fret because of him who prospers in his way,
Because of the man who carries out wicked schemes.
ALL: Cease from anger, and forsake wrath;
Do not fret, it leads only to evildoing.
HIS MERCY IS MORE
(Matt Papa, Matt Boswell)
What love could remember no wrongs we have done?
Omniscient, all knowing, he counts not their sum.
Thrown into a sea without bottom or shore.
Our sins, they are many, his mercy is more.
What patience would wait as we constantly roam?
What father, so tender, is calling us home?
He welcomes the weakest, the vilest, the poor.
Our sins they are many, his mercy is more.
CHORUS:
Praise the Lord,
His mercy is more.
Stronger than darkness, new every morn.
Our sins they are many, his mercy is more.
What riches of kindness he lavished on us.
His blood was the payment, his life was the cost.
We stood ‘neath a debt we could never afford.
Our sins, they are many, his mercy is more.
(CHORUS)

John 1:1-5 (ESV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
Confession of Faith
Colossians 1:15-18
LEADER: Christian, who do you confess Jesus to be?
CONGREGATION: He is the image of the invisible God,
the firstborn over all creation.
For by Him all things were created
Both in the heavens and on earth, visible and invisible,
whether thrones or dominions,
or rulers or authorities
All things have been created by Him and for Him.
He is also the head of the body, the church;
and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead;
So that He Himself might come to have first place in everything.
Song of Response
I WILL GLORY IN MY REDEEMER
(Steve Cook, Vicki Cook)
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Whose priceless blood has ransomed me.
Mine was the sin that drove the bitter nails,
And hung Him on that judgment tree.
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Who crushed the power of sin and death.
My only Savior before the holy Judge:
The Lamb Who is my righteousness,
The Lamb Who is my righteousness.
I will glory in my Redeemer.
My life He bought, my love He owns.
I have no longings for another,
I’m satisfied in Him alone.
I will glory in my Redeemer,
His faithfulness my standing place.
Though foes are mighty and rush upon me,
My feet are firm held by His grace,
My feet are firm held by His grace.
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Who carries me on eagle’s wings.
He crowns my life with loving kindness,
His triumph song I’ll ever sing.
I will glory in my Redeemer,
Who waits for me at gates of gold.
And when He calls me it will be paradise,
His face forever to behold,
His face forever to behold.

Benediction
(The leader or individual should read this aloud relishing in the confident assertion that Christ has conquered.)
Luke 12:29-32
LEADER: Do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you. Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
PEOPLE: Amen!
Worshipping God through Giving
God has called us to be generous. He has entrusted this earth and all that is in it to us, but it is, ultimately, His! The Father gave what was most precious to Him, His own Son, in order to die for our sins. He has given to us abundantly beyond all that we could possibly ask or imagine! He is a benevolent and generous Giver! So, we give.
First, we want to remind you to continue your regular giving to TQC. This supports the ongoing work and ministry here in the Upper Valley and around the world through our missions support. Second, please consider giving to our Benevolence Fund, which supports local community care, both inside and outside the church. This is vitally important right now! As we see needs sprouting up around the community, we want to be positioned to extend a loving hand of support to those in need.
