LEADER: I love the LORD, for he heard my voice; he heard my cry for mercy.

PEOPLE: Because he turned his ear to me, I will call on him as long as I live.

LEADER: The cords of death entangled me, the anguish of the grave came upon me; I was overcome by trouble and sorrow.

PEOPLE: Then I called on the name of the LORD: “O LORD, save me!”

LEADER: The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion.

Special Benevolence Offering for Minneapolis Rebuild Relief

Our regular Benevolence Offerings are special collections above and beyond our regular giving to the church. The money received is then used in a variety of ways – 1) to help those with material needs within our church, 2) to help those with need in the broader Upper Valley Community, and 3) at times to help those suffering loss in other parts of the world. Today we have another such opportunity to give. Of the money collected 50% will be distributed to agencies assisting with rebuilding and relief efforts in Minneapolis, in partnership with fellow Converge churches in the city. The remaining 50% will go to meet other local needs through CRC’s Benevolence Fund. If you want to designate a gift for this special offering, please write “Benevolence: Minneapolis” in the memo section of your check or on your giving envelope. You can also give online here.

Prayer Time

• Pray for our nation – that the good news of Jesus Christ would reconcile people and bring justice.
• Pray for those who are hurting from disease and from unfair treatment.
• Pray for those leading our country and state – that they would have wisdom and grace in their decision making.
• Pray for the Willeman family as Dori recovers from her surgery.
• Pray that we would draw near to God as individuals and a church.

James 4

¹¹ Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast.
